Every Thursday we create a bar graph as a class. I pose a question to my students and they graph which of four choices they would pick. Some of the questions come from a unit we are studying, some are about holidays or seasons, some are about activities the kids enjoy. After kids put their choices on the graph we analyze it mathematically and discuss the topic. It is pretty interesting to see the popular choices and hear the kids' reasoning for the things they pick.
